Overview and Indications

Minimally invasive surgery procedures are done through one or more small incisions using small tubes, tiny video cameras and surgical instruments. These types of procedures usually allow for a faster recovery time and a shorter hospital stay. Some minimally invasive surgeries may be performed on an outpatient basis. Robotic surgery is also a type of minimally invasive surgery, which gives surgeons greater dexterity, precision and ability to perform the procedure.
