2015 Community Grants and Sponsorship Program
The Community Grants and Sponsorship Program is a key initiative of the Keck Medical Center of USC Community Benefit Program and supports our goal to address the unmet health needs of our community.
Community benefit programs are designed to provide treatment and/or promote health and healing in response to community need. We construct our community benefit program by first identifying the needs of the community through a Community Health Needs Assessment. Then we develop an initiative that responds to that need and that meets at least one of the following criteria:
- Improves access to health care services;
- Enhances the health of the community;
- Advances medical or health knowledge; or
- Relieves or reduces the burden of government or other community efforts.
To implement our community benefit plan, the Keck Medical Center of USC has chosen to partner with community nonprofit groups and affiliated USC organizations whose programs align with the strategic priorities identified in our hospitals’ Community Health Needs Assessment.
Keck Medical Center of USC supports various charitable causes that are consistent with our mission, values and business objectives. The hospitals make direct donations to nonprofit organizations requesting sponsorships. We consider sponsorship requests up to $2,500 to community programs that align with our community priorities. Sponsorship requests are considered throughout the year.
